FATHER FRANK ANTHONY (TONY) SANDS 1949 - 2018 Loving husband, father, grandfather and Anglican priest, Father Frank Anthony Sands, known to his friends as Tony, was born April 26, 1949 and went to be with the Lord November 28, 2018. He was born Red Buff, CA to the late Frank and Wanda Sands. Tony was raised in Glenn County, with his family finally settling in Orland, CA. He went into the family business of irrigation construction in 1967, graduated from California State University, Chico with a degree in Business, and retired from irrigation construction in 2010. He married Anna Bell Dreiss in 1975 and they settled in Chico, CA. Father Tony was ordained through the Anglican Province of Christ the King as a deacon in 1999 and a priest in 2006. As a travelling priest, he routinely served at parishes in Danville, Concord, and Sacramento all in California, and in Bend, OR. Father Tony was a family man. He loved visiting and playing with his children and grand-children. He never met a stranger and took every opportunity to share his love for God with all he knew. He took pride in writing sermons and was an avid reader, writer, and historian. Father Tony also never found a map he didn't like. Father Tony is survived by his wife Ann, their daughter Stacy Kronner (Eric), their son Frank Sands (Andie), their daughter Kassie Kirch (Clint, preceded in death by), and their son Eric Sands (Nicole) and 6 grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, December 8 at 10:30am at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, 3rd and Salem, Chico. After the internment at the Chico Cemetery, there will be a gathering for family and friends back at St. Augustine's to celebrate Father Tony's life.
