GALE LAMB GLENN Gale Lamb Glenn, 90, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2018. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice House, 1289 Bille Road, Paradise, CA 95969. Gale was born November 8, 1927 in Hollywood, CA. He served in the Navy following high school, enrolling in college afterward. He graduated from UCLA and went on to earn a teaching credential and Master's degree in business. While at UCLA, Gale met Jackie Incho. They were married in 1953 in Anaheim, CA. In 1959, they moved to Ventura where Gale taught junior high and high school. He developed a keen interest in special education and earned a second Master's. In 1962, the family moved to Logan, Utah where Gale pursued his doctorate in special education and psychology while teaching classes at the university. He then accepted the position of Coordinator of Special Services for the state of Utah, making a name for himself in the field of special education. The family ended up in Oroville, CA, where Gale continued his mission to enhance, improve, and expand special education services in the county, state, and nation. He earned many awards and received national recognition as one of the top 10 educators in the U.S. Following retirement, Gale continued to serve the community in multiple ways, including many years as president of the Oroville elementary school board. He enjoyed travel, family, friends, and fishing, and was characterized by his qick wit and desire to help others. Gale was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Esther Glenn, his sister, Phyllis Brown Kaneen, and nephew, Dennis Brown. He is survived by his brother, Robert Keith Glenn of Brookings, OR; former wife Jackie Glenn of Eureka; daughters Cathleen (Kevin) Woodward of Crescent City and Cheri (Tom) Anderson of Chico; son Dana Glenn of San Jose; grandchildren Casey Bauguess, Kelsey Glenn, Jamie and Aaron Coppedge, Alex, Tierney, and Calle Anderson; niece Deborah (Bob) Garner and nephew Chris Glenn, and several great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Butte Creek Country Club on Saturday, March 10, 2-5 P.M. channand@aol.com
