1937 - 2012 Obituary Condolences
GEORGE ST. LOUIS George St. Louis passed away at home on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, after a courageous three year battle with glioblastoma. He was born in Willows, CA on July 31, 1937 to Arthur and Rita St. Louis. He attended school in Hamilton City, graduating in 1955. After graduation, he briefly attended Chico State and then enlisted in the United States Army in 1957. George served two years in France, two years active reserve, and two years inactive reserve, being honorably discharged in 1963. George farmed and retired from PG&E. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and past Grand Knight. He loved attending sports events for all of his children as they were growing up and all of his grandchildren. Other favorite activities were annual family vacations in Fort Bragg, fishing, and hunting. George is survived by the love of his life, Terry Copenhaver, whom he married on April 23, 1960. They resided in Orland and raised four children. His children are Corinne Enos (Rick) of Glenn; Michele St. Louis of Orland; Lonnie St. Louis (Stacy) of Orland; and Janelle Maxwell (Wade) of San Jose. He was preceded in death by a newborn son, Michael. George is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Nathan, Josh, and Garrett Enos; Jeff St. Louis; Kayla and Kyle St. Louis; and Lane and Rylee Maxwell. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ernie, and infant sister, Margaret. George is survived by three brothers, Art Jr. (Meta), Donald, and Richard; and one sister, Elaine Vranna (John); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Orland. A rosary will be at 1:30 p.m., followed by mass at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Enloe Hospice, Stanford Hospital Research, or . Arrangements are under the direction of F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary in Orland.
