Obituary Condolences

Herbert C. Brewster passed away on Friday evening December 19th in Chico, California. He was born on November 28, 1928 in Gardena, California to Thomas and Glenia Brewster. He enlisted in the Marines in 1945, where he served in China during World War II. Herb married his wife, Doris in 1953 and later raised four children.

In 1969, Herb and his family moved from West Covina, California to Orland, California. He enjoyed being a member of the Orland Masonic organization. One of Herb's great joys was coaching his sons during their little league years. Herb was a truck driver for many years until 1982 when he, his wife, and three sons moved to Oceanside, California where they operated a Canned Foods Grocery Outlet. The family moved back to the Chico area when they were given the opportunity to open the Chico Grocery Outlet store. After working several years at the grocery store, Herb retired. During retirement he enjoyed traveling frequently, with his wife and family in his RV. Herb was a proud member of the local VFW 1555, where he served on the Honor Guard and was a past Post Commander.

Herb is survived by his four children, Richard Brewster, Blain Brewster, Jeff Brewster, Susan Vereschagin and his brother, Thomas Brewster. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family draws great strength in the knowledge that Herb has now joined his beloved wife, Doris in the Lord's Heavenly Home.
