IDA ELIZABETH GOMES

Born February 18, 1923 in Princeton to Manuel and Julia Gomes, Ida Gomes passed away peacefully on December 11, 2011. She was the 2nd oldest in a family of seven.

After graduating from Princeton High School, she went to work for Pacific Telephone. She retired after 43 years in Sacramento. She moved to Chico, where she lived for 25 years. She loved traveling and was active in many clubs, including Telephone Pioneers, Holy Ghost Festa and Our Divine Savior Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard and Manuel; and sisters, Agnes McVey, and Helen Pates. She will be missed by her large circle of family and friends.

Ida is survived by sisters, Marie (Wendell) Green, Lillian (Jim) Mole, and nieces and nephews, Jim (Erica) Langford, Pennie (Bob) Morejohn, Ron McVey, Lori Mole, Bryan (Kim) Mole, and 6 great-nieces and nephews.

McNary-Moore in Colusa will host the funeral service performed by Father Arbel Cabasagan on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. and a viewing will be held the same day at 10:00 a.m. Internment will immediately follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Colusa.
