James Paul Wilson was born December 29, 1932 in Rison, Arkansas. He died on January 8, 2010 in Chico, California, at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly of Durham; son, David (Julia) of Durham; daughters, Lori Girimonte (David) of Eureka, Amy Burt (Jim) of Chico; grandchildren, Kyle and Tony Girimonte and Elise Merrell.

Paul was predeceased by parents, Ray and Bessie Wilson and sister, Betty Egbert.

Paul served in the United States Army. Following his military service he worked as a logger in Quincy, California. After logging he was a truck driver for numerous companies. Paul retired in 1995.

During retirement Paul enjoyed raising various breeds of birds including, Doves, Pigeons, Chickens, Parakeets, Love Birds, Finch, and Quail. Paul had a green thumb and spent many hours tending to his bountiful vegetable garden, fruit trees, and flowers. He loved to share the goods from his garden with family and friends. Paul shared his love of horses with his daughter, Amy and granddaughter, Elise. Paul was also an avid Bull Riding fan.

We will be remembering Paul at an open house for family and friends on Saturday, January 16, 2010 between the hours of 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the residence of David and Julia Wilson at 9868 Skillin Estates Drive, Durham, CA. There will be a private burial in Arkansas at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, in care of Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home. 680 Camellia Way, Chico, Ca 95926.
