James Wilson Obituary
JAMES WILSON James Franklin Wilson, retired CDF Captain, passed away at home with family by his side after a long battle with Parkinson's on February 27, 2018. Jim was born October 25, 1947 in Santa Rosa, CA. Most of his youth was spent assisting his dad with the family farm. In his last few years of high school Jim developed an interest in firefighting and quickly became a fixture at the local station soaking up any information that he could and assisting with miscellaneous tasks. In 1964 he graduated from high school and as "Papa" always stated, "I was hired by CDF the very next day". He had a lengthy career with CDF for over 30 years in multiple counties throug-hout California. He was dedicated to his job and was highly respected in the fire community. In 1991 Jim married his angel Cathy who shared his love of the outdoors. He retired in 1997 from CDF. Some of his favorite activities included camping, house boating, fishing, playing cribbage, hanging out at Riley's and spending time with family. Jim is survived by his wife Cathy, 2 daughters Victoria Stewart and Joy Betts; grandchildren Hanna, Jacob, Kaitlyn, and Zachary Stewart, Skylar Betts and Haley Warner. A memorial service will be held at Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home on Saturday March 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.
