Obituary Condolences


Jerry Johnson passed away on August 29, 2011.

He is survived by a son, Greg Johnson and his wife, Robyn; a daughter, Kristina Smith and her husband, Rich; four grandchildren, Derek, Taylor, Shawn and Chelsea, all of Chico; two sisters, Norah Baker and her husband, Harry of Chico and Nevelyn Troyer of Redman, Oregon. He is also survived by five aunts, Marge Austin and her husband, Dave, Gladys Avedian, Eula Richie and her husband, James, Charlene Pierot and Nell Simmons, nine nieces and nephews, and 32 cousins.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Miriam Johnson and a brother, Ronald Johnson.

Jerry raised his family in Redding, CA and then moved to Redmond, Oregon to be near his father, sister and brother. Six years ago he moved to Chico to be near his children and grandchildren. His last year of his life has been spent at Twin Oaks Health and Rehabilitation, where he received excellent care from the nurses and staff.

Jerry enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing, karaoke, riding motorcycles, car races and sports of all kinds. His contagious smile, generous heart and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

Donations can be made to the or Twin Oaks Health and Rehabilitation, in care of Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home.

No services will be held at Jerry's request.
