1938 - 2011 Obituary Condolences

John David Noor was born on February 20, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to Mary Ann and Theodore Noor. John passed away on October 26, 2011 in Oroville, CA.

He served in the Armed Services as a Marine in Japan and worked as a jet airplane mechanic. John owned and operated his own automotive repair shop, "John's Automotive Service" since 1979. He also taught Automotive 101 and Smog at Butte Community College. John dearly loved the outdoors and was truly adventurous! He loved to race both cars and motorcycles. Although John raced Cross Country, Hare & Hound and Flat Track, his first love was Enduro motorcycle racing, and was he ever good at that! John was a private pilot. He and Pearl frequently traveled all over the countryside in their plane. His hobbies included teaching, flying planes, motorcycle riding with his buddies in the French Creek area trails, fishing, building and flying model RC airplanes and helicopters. He truly had a love for life and adventure. John met the love of his life, Pearl Baugher in 1974, while attending Butte College as a student. He will be remembered by his friends and family as being a loving companion, funny, extremely honest, adventurous and very loved by all his family and friends.

John is survived by his loving companion of 37 years, Pearl Baugher; his four step-children, Peggy Lopez, Steven Baugher, Valorie Wise and David Gimenez; three grandchildren, Sali, Sophy and Jolene and one great-grandchild, Sierra. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson Street, Oroville, CA. His Funeral will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 1:00 pm. at Ramsey Funeral Home.
