John was born on August 7, 1921 in Kingston, New York. He served in the Army Air Force First Air Commandos during World War II and received multiple medals for piloting unarmed planes behind enemy lines in the Burma/China/India area. Following his discharge, he worked in management positions for Goodyear Corporation before joining the Civil Services as a procurement officer for the U.S. Air Force. During his career he was responsible for the acquisition of several lines of aircraft and was posted in Syracuse, New York; Madison, Wisconsin; and Sacramento, California. John was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed taking his family camping and on trips throughout the US. He enjoyed golf and fishing, but was happiest just being with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be very missed by all of us. At his request there will be no services.
