JONNA MARIE RAMEY GARCIA Jonna Marie Ramey Garcia, 48, passed away Sept 8, 2013 surounded by her family. She was born to Jessie Marie Gilkey in Oroville on May 7, 1965. Jonna Garcia leaves behind her partner, Sheila Marie Murray, son Daniel Garcia, stepdaughters Angela Joe Ballez, Toni Jo Ballez, and Christina Leigh-Anna Chadwick; eight grandchildren, pride and joy Lovella S.A.M.S. Garcia, Jordan Alice Bates, Josiah Ballez, Cori-Ann Crafton, Madison Mohr, Alyiah Mohr, Mariah Mohr, Payton Fowler, and great-granddaughter Jessie Marroquin. Also surviving Jonna are three brothers, Douglas Johnsrude, Joel Bobb, Jimmy Brown, and three sisters, Vicky Brown, Christina Bobb, and Donnell Bobb; stepfather Jesus Sandoval, grandfather Rookie Davis, two uncles, James Davis and Dale Taylor; seven first cousins, Guy Taylor (Nicole), Dana Taylor (Heather), Brandee Radaikin (Bruce), Jesse Taylor (Darren), Chris Davis, Robyn Davis, and Amber Davis; many second and third cousins, and friends too numerous to estimate. Jonna was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie Marie Davis Gilkey, much loved Aunt Janice Lou Verne Davis Taylor, and adored grandmother, Addie Alyce Jackson Davis. Jonna was a lineal tribal member of the Mooretown Rancheria of Maidu Indians, with a strong dedication to service to the tribe, a quality instilled in her by her mother Jessie, Aunt Janice, Grandmother Addie and other family members. Jonna sat on several Tribal committees over the years, and was a long-time employee of the Tribe. Jonna felt a strong sense of justice, and was a vocal and tenacious advocate for others. Never did she turn away from someone in need. Her loving nature and strong sense of family were hallmarks of her character. She will forever be missed, remembered fondly, and loved deeply. A visitation will be held at Scheer Memorial on Sunday, October 13th 1:00 to 5:00 P.M and Monday, also at Scheer 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. followed by a funeral service.
