K.C. HENDRIX, JR.

K.C. Hendrix, Jr. entered into eternal rest on August 28, 2008 in Oroville, CA, after bravely battling stomach cancer for several years.

K.C was born in Sacramento, CA on March 31, 1962 to Patricia Deremiah and K.C. Hendrix, Sr. He graduated from Oroville High School, class of 1980, and then attended CSU Chico. K.C. proudly served his country in the Marines for four years after which he returned to the Oroville/Chico area.

K.C. has been an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad for the last several years. He enjoyed working on trains, taking pleasure in the beautiful scenery of Northern California, seeing many sites visible only from the train. He loved to share stories of his many adventures with family and friends.

K.C. was an avid S.F. Giants and 49er's fan. He loved to talk with friends, but especially his sons, about games and favorite teams. K.C. also enjoyed traveling and camping on the coast. His favorite place to visit was Ft. Bragg.

K.C. is survived by his wife, Cheryn; parents, Patricia Deremiah and KC and Cathy Hendrix, Sr. all of Oroville; four children, Cherie Suarez of Sacramento, Kyle and Kurt Hendrix of Evans, CO and Jake Hendrix of Oroville; his sisters Laura Filbeck, Rachel Tomlinson and Veronique Steele and his grandmother, Mildred Brazil, all of Oroville. K.C. also leaves behind three grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins, his best friend Eddie Beasom and his Border Collie, Jessi and princess kitty, Jamaica. K.C. was preceded in death by his grandparents Rosa Brown, William S. Deremiah and A.B. (Tuffy) Hendrix.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home in Oroville, followed by a Christian Funeral Mass on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Oroville.

Memorial donations may be made to: UTU IA, Local Unit 8; PO Box 1197; Rocklin, CA 95677. This fund assists Union Pacific Employees assigned to Roseville which is the area K.C. worked out of.
