Lansing Clay Stenson Obituary
LANSING CLAY STENSON Mar. 10, 1952 Feb. 2, 2014 Lansing Clay Stenson was born March 10, 1952, in Oroville, California. The third of four boys born to Leslie C. Stenson and Mildred C. Johnson, he was always happiest as part of a family. As a high school and UC Davis student, Lance worked at the Davis Hunt's Cannery, picked fruit and pulled chain in several saw mills, all of which inspired him to go to medical school. A UCD Medical School grad, Lance practiced emergency medicine for 10 years before starting a private practice in general, sports and occupational medicine in Davis, practicing finally with Sutter Davis Medical Group and serving as chief financial officer. He was grateful for the support of many patients as he learned to be a patient himself, facing chronic pain for his last 10 years. Lance was a do-it-now person, both in medicine and in life, facing medical urgency as openly as pleasure and dessert. He was a proud father and delightful life partner, anchoring family joy and activities. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Margo (nee Olson); daughter, Heather Ann (Gailon Michael Ebell) and sons Eric Clay and Nathan Clay; brothers Randall Stenson (Mary Ann Carrico) and Kim Stenson (Jonelle Schurr); nephews Garrett, Marshall, Kevin, Mark, Nick and Ben, and niece Melissa, and their wonderful families. He is predeceased by his brother, Steven Stenson (Adrienne Alt). A Celebration of Life will be held for Lansing at University Covenant Church at 12 noon on Saturday, February 8th. Viewing at Wiscombe Funeral Home Friday, February 7th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
