Larry Loughlin Obituary
LARRY LOUGHLIN Lawrence (Larry) Lough-lin, 82, of Chico, beloved husband, dad and grandpa, died peacefully at home Dec. 19th after a valiant battle against lymphoma. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but a resident of CA since 1961. Larry was a retired science teacher who loved to fly fish, go camping, do woodwork-ing, drumming, calli-graphy and the chal-lenge of doing home repairs. He was inno-vative, methodical and meticulous and did every task to his best. He was a quiet but friendly person who had a wry sense of humor, and was always willing to help in any way he could. Above all, he was a devoted husband and a wonderful family man. He liked to give biscuits to neighbors' dogs and to any friendly ones he met during his and Lily's daily walks to the park. Some recognized him even from afar to run and greet him hoping for a treat. Larry and Lily, his wife of 55 years, traveled extensively after retire-ment and had plans to continue doing more until overcome by cancer. HIs last happy activity was being in the Trinity UMC church choir. Survived by Lily, sons Glenn(Carol) and Randy, grandkids Marisa and Brett, six sisters and many relatives in PA and VA. The family is thankful for the wonderful, compassionate and com-fort care of Enloe Hos-pice personnel and his oncologist, Dr. Bonis, who treated him as a special human being and not as a disease, as well as the staff at the Cancer Center who treated him so conside-rately during chemo sessions. Service to celebrate his life at 11:00 Saturday, Jan. 6th, at Trinity UMC, 5th and Flume, Chico, CA. Casual attire. In lieu of flowers, a donation to is suggested. He left us too soon, but we shall forever keep him in our hearts and memories.
