Larry P. Garner, 66, passed away December 15, 2007 in Sacramento, California. He was born August 29, 1941 in Richvale and was a 1959 high school graduate of Biggs High School. Larry was a resident of Berry Creek.

Larry joined the United States Army in 1959. During his honorable service, he was station at Fort Bliss, Texas and Germany as a Missile Crewman.

Following Larry's military service, he returned to Gridley, California where he married Betty Louise Asbury, November 30, 1974.

Larry provided for his family as a ranch foreman, mechanic, tractor-trailer driver and laborer. He was a long-time member of The Loyal Order of the Moose fraternal organization.

Larry had a devoted love for his family and friends, a special place in his heart for animals, an unmatched sense of humor, and unparalleled intelligence and common sense. Larry loved to go four-wheeling in his 1964 International Scout, going where only the crazy would dare to go!

He is survived by his wife, Betty Louise Garner of Durham; his three children, Cara Harwood of Beale Air Force Base, Michael Garner of Vacaville, Michelle Garner of Durham; two step-children, Angela Allen of Columbia, Missouri and Leah Allen of San Diego; 14 grandchildren, Margaret, Kristin, Ryan, Curtis, Hannah, Priscilla, Laura, Steven, Jackson, Daniella, Matthew, Jonas, Justin and Kaitlyn. Larry was preceded in death by his infant son, Larry Garner, Jr.; his parents Earl and Alzina Garner; and his sister Earlene Garner.

He will forever be remembered as the hard working father and husband, selfless friend, and the wonderful treasure that he truly was. Larry will be profoundly missed by family, friend and all who loved him.
