Laurel Giovannelli Obituary
LAUREL GIOVANNELLI December 8, 1922 - March 13, 2018 Born in Oakland, CA, the last of six children. Laurel married her first husband while a senior in high school, and two years later welcomed her son Scott. There were many great memories of large family gatherings on Sundays around her mother and father's dining room table making for a lot of noise and love. Laurel spent the majority of her life residing in the Bay Area until she and her second husband moved to Chico in 1995. Laurel worked in upscale dress shops sharing her flair for clothes and jewelry with her loyal customers, who often requested her personal touch especially husbands shopping for their wives. Being social was important to Laurel. Ball room dancing, Italian club, and living at Sycamore Glen allowed for her to enjoy time with her many friends. Predeceased by first husband, Marshall Gulbransen; second husband, and love of her life, Silvano Giovannelli; cherished great grandson, Nick Gulbransen; and her five siblings. Survived by son, Scott Gulbransen of Chico and Daughter-In-Law Kathleen Gulbransen of Chico. Grandmother, to Donna and Jim Shary of Chico, David and Susie Gulbransen of Chico, and Mike and Tina Gulbransen of Paradise. Great Grandmother to Michaela and Jay Golightly of Chico, Tim Gulbransen of Chico, and Christian Gulbransen of Paradise. And of SPECIAL DELIGHT, GREAT-GREAT Grandmother to Kinsley and Garrett Golightly. Laurel is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children. Laurel's fondest wish this past year was to make it to her 95th birthday, which she did! Service for friends and family will be held Saturday March 17th at 2:00 P.M. At Newton Bracewell Funeral Home, 680 Camellia Way Chico CA 95926. In lieu of flowers please express your care by donation to the charity most important to you.
