Mancil Frank Hodges Obituary
MANCIL FRANK HODGES 12/9/1918 - 5/20/2018 Mancil Hodges of 66 Ceres Circle passed away on Sunday, May 20th, 2018 after a month of illness. He leaves behind three daughters, Jeanette Daniel, Sandra Falk and Terri Peterson; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Mancil was born in Asotin County, WA and moved to CA in 1942 with his bride, Josephine Tinnel. They were married for 73 years. Mancil spent his life working to raise a family by: milking cows, raising chickens, growing walnuts and being an accountant for several local businesses, including CSU Chico, where he retired. He was an active member of the Evangelical Free Church of Chico for over 75 years, first in Richvale and then in Chico. He went to the gym until his 97th birthday and stayed active until the last month of his life. He owes his longevity to a life lived for Jesus, love, chocolate chip cookies and dinner at Cozy Diner. He will certainly be missed. A viewing will be held Thursday, May 31st, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. at Newton Bracewell Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 1st, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Oaks Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church of Chico. In lieu of flowers the family has requested for donations to be made to your favorite local charity. To share your online thoughts and condolences, please visit NewtonBracewell.com
