Margaret Ryon Obituary
MARGARET RYON Margaret Ryon was called to heaven on November 25th, 2013 in Chico, CA. She was born in New Jersey and lived in Pennsylvania before moving with her family to Chico during junior high. She grew up and remained living in Butte County where some of her friends and family also knew her as Meg Scott or Maggie Arbuckle. She played many musical instruments but especially loved the piano and cello. She played the cello in the Chico State Symphony where she earned her Bachelor's degree, was one of the first candy stripers at Enloe Hospital, and later obtained her Master's Degree. Her passion was faith, family, friends, teaching, her animals, and music. She was a woman that believed love could heal any wound and loved unconditionally every day of her life. She always greeted everyone with a huge smile, contagious laugh, and a warm hug. Margaret spent her last 24 years as a teacher in Willows at Murdock Elementary School where she was a respected and loved member of the faculty and community. She will be eternally loved and cherished by her husband Charles Ryon; daughters Jennifer Berger and Amanda Hightower; grandchildren Mylee and Colby Hightower; son-in-law Brandon Hightower; niece Christina Wurlitzer; and sister Louise Scott. She will be missed dearly by friends and her animals. Donations can be made to Butte or Glenn County Animal Shelters or the Nor-Cal National MS Society. Services will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 2 p.m. at Richvale Church in Richvale, CA. Share your memories online at NewtonBracewell.com.
