1926 - 2010 Obituary Condolences


Peg Williamson passed away of congestive heart failure April 27, 2010 at her home with family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert Gordon Williamson. Born July 2, 1926 in Wichita, Kansas to Sarah Katherine and Wykoff Montfort Keach, she had two sisters, Judith Dickson (deceased) (Bob) and Elizabeth Grant (Gene).

Peg and her family moved to Chico in 1941. She graduated from Chico High School, valedictorian of her class. She attended DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Her education was interrupted by the death of her father and she returned to Chico at the end of her sophomore year. She married Gordon on December 29, 1945. Peg and Gordon had four children, Ann Katherine, Gilbert Gordon Jr. (deceased) (Louise), Margaret Judith (Mark), and James Philip (Robin). She had three sisters-in-law, Alice Williamson Hutchins (deceased), Claudia Williamson Steel and Elinore Williamson Giberson. Family was all-important to Peg and she deeply loved her 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Peg was active in her community and sold real estate in Chico for over 35 years. She was a member of P.E.O. (60 years), Omega Nu, Butte Creek Country Club, Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church and many other organizations.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church. Reception following at Butte Creek Country Club.
