Obituary Condolences

Marie B. Enos, 86, The Lord welcomed Marie home peacefully the evening of May 6, 2009. She lived a life and lifestyle that honored the Lord and his word, as did her husband of 62 years. Carl had passed away in 1998.

Their early years of marriage were in Napa, CA. Their dream was to own a ranch in Glenn County. Every cent was saved so that their dream would be realized. She worked in the fields or any odd job that could add money to the ranch fund. The depression days were hard. Finally they moved to Glenn County and bought 280 acres of bare land. Carl made small cement plants where he and Marie made blocks and built their first home. Marie gardened, help work the ranch, canned fruit, sewed, baked and took care of her family.

Marie was wonderful loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was born in Oregon. Father was Ira Collier and Mother Dorthea with 8 brothers and sisters who have all preceded her in death. She married the love of her life in 1936. Carl and Marie were married for 62 years and had four children, Buck (Lesly), of Prosser, WA, Janice Enos of Chico, Judie (Steve) Martin and Lynda Smith both of Orland; nine grandsons, Blane Enos, Kent Enos, Brett Enos, D.G. Woodward III, Trace Woodward, Kevin Woodward, Gary Byker and Carl Byker, 17 great-grandchildren, Brandon Hernandes, Brigette Enos, Ariel Enos, Jade Enos, Alexa Woodward, DG Woodward IV, Anna Woodward, Katie Woodward, Sara Woodward, Mitchell Woodward, Megan Woodward, Ash Martin, and Ean Martin; one great-great-grandchild, Zoe. Marie was well known for her generous ways, making wonderful pies and delicious meals. Her hobbies were growing beautiful flowers, and making flower arrangements was a joy for her. She will not be forgotten for all the hard work, loving care and generous nature throughtout her life to her family and friends. She was an example of a honorable Christian wife, mother, and grandmother.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at F. D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, Orland, CA.
