MARY ALICE "MACY" KELLY A memorial service for Macy Kelly will be held on Saturday, March 9,2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church 667 E. First Ave. in Chico. Macy passed away on February 24, 2013 in Chico at the age of 58. She was born on May 10, 1954 in Chico. Macy loved teaching Nursing at Butte College, where she taught for 23 years and was beloved by her students and fellow teachers. She also taught nursing in Ghana, Africa. Macy had many hobbies, including music, sailing, kayaking, hiking, art, swimming, cycling, rollerblading, reading, cooking, and participating in Iron-Woman events, to name a few. She was also an avid traveler, exploring or serving in various parts of the world. Macy served as President of the friends of the Library in Chico and donated many books to the library on special occasions to honor family members and friends. Macy was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church for many years where she volunteered on the Social Ministry Team and served as liaison between Faith Lutheran and its global companions in the Kagitumba Parish in Africa, which she had the joy of visiting. Macy's long-time favorite place to savor free-time was in Jonesville on the family property. And, an important grace in Macy's life was being a friend of Bill. W. Macy is survived by her Husband Stephen Crump of Chico, her Mother Barbara Copeland of Chico, a Brother Charles {Sally} Copeland of Chico, Sisters Ellen Copeland of Chico and Claudia {Robert} Charter of Sacramento, Ca. Stepchildren Melissa {Ed} Wilkinson, Marcia {Bill} Graham, John E. Kelly, Marianne {Greg} Burg. 9 step grandchildren, 4 nephews and 3 nieces and many friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to support the Kagitumba Parish in care of Faith Lutheran Church. Memo: Rwanda Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home.
