1939 - 2012 Obituary Condolences

Jan. 6, 1939 - Mar. 4, 2012

Tony was born in El Salvador, to Cecil and Tina Calderon. He grew up in San Francisco, CA.

As a young adult, he moved back to El Salvador, where he married Norma Cardenas. Tony stayed there for several years and worked for a pharmaceutical company. He then moved back to California and lived in Marin County, where he worked as a court interpreter, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. Upon retiring, Tony moved to Chico and had resided here for the last five years.

Tony loved life. He had an engaging personality and made friends easily. He had the ability to make people laugh and it was fun to be with him. He was an avid sports fan, as a participant or spectator. He will be missed.

Tony is survived by his daughters, Ana (Ceci) Calderon, Norma Calderon, Cristina Calderon, and Gladis Calderon; his sister, Ana La Rossa, and brother, David Calderon; his grandchildren, Cristofer Solheim, Nicolas and Rubi Melo. He is predeceased by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Newman Center in Chico, CA.
