Michael graduated from Westmoor High in Daly City in 1964. He began his career as a teacher at Plaza Elementary School in Glenn County, and went on to become both the Principal and Superintendent, until his retirement in 2003. After his retirement, he enjoyed following politics on the internet, television, radio and newspaper. His hobbies included reading, traveling, bonsai, and spending time with his family and friends. Some afternoons he could be found at Cal Java on East Ave., drinking his "Choo-Choo" specially made by his barista daughter.

The family will be scattering his remains below the Golden Gate Bridge, from the deck of the Naiad on February 5th, 2011. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Elks Lodge in Chico on Sunday, March 20th, 2011 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family is in the process of setting up the "Mr. K Memorial Fund" benefiting Plaza School. For more information, please contact the Neptune Society at 530-345-7200. They will have the most current information available regarding the memorial fund and celebration of life.

The family encourages and welcomes ALL members of the community, touched by the life of Michael Kimberley, to come and remember him at the celebration of his life.
