MYRTIS ESTELLA BRAKER

March 17, 1920 - June 10, 2010

Myrtis Estella Braker was born at home in Capay, California to Clifford and Mamie Hadley Ball.

She married Walter Enns in 1939, they had two sons, Gilbert C. Enns of Chico and Ralph R. Enns of Magalia. Walter preceded her in death in 1983. Myrtis married Robert L. Braker in 1958. November 2009, they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Robert passed away June 2, 2010. She is also preceded by her older sister, Ellen Peterson of Corning.

She is survived by her brother, Charles H. Ball of Capay; her two sons, and three grandchildren, Cory Enns of Eureka, Kathe Enns of Chico and Carl Enns of Plumas Lake.

Myrt graduated from Hamilton High School in 1938. She has, over the years, kept in contact with many of her classmates. She also attended Chico State. Myrt retired from Ben Franklin at age 65. You may have also seen her at Grants, Woolworths and even at Price Candy Store, as your favorite cashier.

She was always doing for others. Left snacks daily for the mailman and even made sure the garbage carriers had a cold bottle of water. Robert and her brightened up the neighborhood every year with all their Christmas lights. Her hobbies were gardening and photography, she should have taken out stock in Kodak.

The family will hold private services at Chico Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online at www.brusiefh.com.
