Patricia Murphy Obituary

PATRICIA ANN MURPHY Patricia A. {Pat} Murphy went home to the Lord on August 2, 2018. Pat was born to Harry Rolland and Alma Murphy on February 2, 1933 in Colorado. She was raised in Kansas and Missouri graduating from Westport High in Kansas City, Missouri in 1951. She then lived for 9 years in Dallas, Texas, moving to California in 1972 and to Chico in 1976. Pat worked in Accounting for 28 years before going to work for the Chico Enterprise Record where she worked in the Circulation Dept. delivering the paper to racks and stores and in the office and delivering missed papers for a combination of 21 years. After retiring, she volunteered for the American Cancer Society shop for 8 years. Pat loved sports, both watching and playing when she was young. She played softball and basketball. When she could no longer do that, she took up bowling winning many trophies including West Coast women's team Tournament and the 600 Club Sweeper. Pat also enjoyed photography, fishing and camping, gardening and reading. Pat had a special rapport with cats. She loved them all. If she didn't find them, they would find her. Sometimes they would even follow her home, even though they already had one. Pat was a faithful follower of Jesus after accepting him as her Savior at 18. She also loved God's word and was a long member of Chico Grace Brethren Church. Online condolences can be sent to www.brusiefh.com
