1931 - 2012 Obituary Condolences
PAUL ARTHUR SCHMOYER Paul Arthur Schmoyer, 81, of Oroville, CA, went to heaven on Thursday, November 1, 2012. Paul was born on July 29, 1931 to William and Florence Schmoyer in Emmaus, Pennsylvania. He was proud to serve his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force. After leaving the Air Force, he worked for 10 years as a draftsman for the Nevada Irrigation District in Grass Valley. Paul was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church, where he liked to call himself the aggressive greeter and was known for his coffee making skills. His love and trust in the Lord was unwavering. Paul enjoyed football (Pittsburgh Steelers), cribbage, card games, fishing, bird hunting and life. Family was of great importance to him and perhaps the greatest joy for him was spending time with his great-grandchildren. Paul was the Patriarch to a large and growing family. He is survived by his wife, Donna; his son, John (Pam) Schmoyer; his daughters, Connie (Orbin) Fortier, and Elizabeth (Christopher) Ratzlaff; Paula and (Steve) Barber, Karena Laubinger-Johnstone and (Paul Johnstone). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his aunt, Minerva; his youngest brother, Henry; his nephew, Corey; and his family, all of whom reside in Pennsylvania. To honor their father, the family requests donations be made to the Pregnancy Resource Center in Oroville. His family wrote: We were truly blessed to have a father who lived his life with honor, integrity and kindness. We will miss your smiling face. "Well done, good and faithful servant!" The Air Force Honor funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at the Northern Veteran Cemetery in Igo, CA.
