1921 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
PAULINE ELIZABETH (CARNAHAN) COLLIER Pauline Elizabeth (Carnahan) Collier was born August 12, 1921 in Rushville, Illinois to Wallace and Fannie Carnahan and passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 n Oroville, California at the age of 91. Pauline traveled west with her family, living in various towns in Missouri and Oklahoma before coming to Oroville, California in 1937. Pauline worked as a waitress, in the kitchen at one of the local hospitals, at Stokley Van Camp, but her most important job was that of homemaker. She loved gardening, fishing and cooking, often sharing her cooking and recipes with family and friends. She married Leroy Tiedemann in 1941, they divorced in 1962. In 1971 Pauline married Clarence Collier. She was married to Clarence until his death in 1987. Although Pauline never had any children of her own, she took great pride in helping her niece Rita take care of her children, Zackary and Noah Peck whom she considered to be her grandsons. She is survived by her sisters Marjorie Banes (Richard) and Mildred Merian Both of Oroville, California as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. She was precedes in death by her husband Clarence, her parents Wallace and Fannie Carnahan, grandson Noah Peck, sister's Dorothy Carnahan, Mable Dobbs, Ruby Parkison and Katherine Stafford, brother's Wallace Carnahan, Harry Carnahan, James Carnahan, Wayne Carnahan, Brownie Carnahan and Raymond Carnahan along with numerous nieces and nephews. Many thanks to Hospice of Paradise, California as well as the caregivers at Iris Care Home, Nicoleta Angheluta, Tonya Sorenson and Wendy Lewaleen for the loving and compassionate care they gave to Pauline in her last days. Viewing will be Friday, June 7, 2013 from 4:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. At Scheer Memorial Chapel in Oroville, California. Graveside services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oroville, California on Wednesday, June 12 2013 at 10:00 A.M. Donations can be made in her name to Paws or the S.P.C.A of Oroville, California
