PEDRO "PETE" RUIZ April 16, 1925 ~ June 12, 2016 Pete was born in Honcut, California on April 16, 1925 to Luis and Angelita Ruiz. In 1942 at the age of 17, he joined the Marines and was honorably discharged in 1945. After returning from overseas, he met and married Rosa Mae French on September 6, 1947. Together they built their home while raising a family in Honcut. They had been married 63 years when Rosa died in 2010. Pete was known as a hard worker who took good care of his family. He was a sincere, honest and very patient person. He was always eager to help others and was an excellent carpenter/woodworker. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and building all kinds of things. In 2007, Pete was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was loved by the brothers and sisters at the Kingdom Hall. He is survived by his daughters: Rosa Nielsen (Stanley), Gloria Ruiz (Jack Black), Mercedes Susan Ruiz (Steven Taylor), Kathie Roe (Wayne), Stella Woods (Don), Roxanne Medina (Frank) and Robin Kester (Dwight), 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; two brothers Arnulfo of Honcut and Angelo of Sacramento, as well as, numerous nephews and nieces. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 24th at 1 pm, Memorial Park, Lincoln Blvd., Oroville. In addition, there will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 25th, at 2 pm, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7490 Gene Lane, Palermo.
