MILLER

Percy Leamon Miller was born to David E. and Eunice Miller on October 5, 1917 in Payne County, Oklahoma. He passed from this life into life with his creator on May 2, 2009.

He was the loving husband of Ruby G. Miller for nearly 61 years, and resided in Redding, CA for 30 years following his retirement from Moss Lumber Company in Burnt Ranch, CA. He enjoyed music all his life. He was passionate about fishing and gardening. Other hobbies included camping, boating, hunting, and playing pool, as well as visiting with family and friends. He was a scout leader, 4-H leader and played on the community baseball team during his younger years. He was known by all as a "sweet man".

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his brothers, James Earl and Thomas Carl; and sisters, Edith, Goldie and Julia (Irene). Survivors include his wife, Ruby, now residing in Oroville under the care of their niece, Evelyn Jones and husband Randy; daughter, Barbara Ross of Sacramento; son, Leamon Miller (and wife Vickie) of Layton, UT; and daughter, Phyllis Williams (and husband Robert) of Fayetteville, AR; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who counted him dear.

Services are under the direction of McDonald's Funeral Chapel, Redding, CA. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 followed by a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2009 at Redding Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff at WindChime of Chico for providing a wonderful quality of life for Mr. Miller since February 2007, as well as the caring and compassionate staff of Enloe Hospital and Shadow Brook Health Care in Oroville.
