Ray Clayburn McKray Obituary
RAY CLAYBURN MC KRAY Ray C. Mc Kray, born October 10, 1941 to James and Elza Mc Kray in Albany, Ca passed away October 15, 2013 from diabetes related complications in Paradise, Ca. Ray was a 1959 graduate of Chico High School and 1964 graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Upon graduation he would pursue careers in ranching and as a nutritional consultant in the livestock industry through the mid 1970's. Eventually leading to his ultimate calling, that of a high school Ag. Teacher, wrestling and football coach. He would assume these duties starting in Ceres, Ca. Moving on to Colville, Oakville, Centralia and Tumwater, Wa, before his eventual retirement. Ray's longtime commitment to teaching and the desire to make a personal connection with his students will forever be his legacy. In his final days many of those memories of former students and lifelong friends would again take center stage as family members gathered to listen, laugh, and share stories of the past. Ray is survived by wife of 25 years, Cindy Mc Kray (Magalia, Ca), sons Scott Mc Kray (Visalia, CA) and Mike Mc Carter (Chico, Ca), daughter Kristi Mc Kray (Las Vegas, Nv), sisters Ilene Mc Kray and Judy Simmons (Chico, Ca) and grandchildren Sienna Mc Kray, Olivia Mc Kray, and Jarod Andersen. Memorial services are to be planned for the spring. Donations can be made to the Paradise Hospice House- Paradise, CA. In Loving Memory of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend you have been a true blessing in our lives.
