ROBERT C. (BOB)

HARTWELL

He has slipped the surly bonds of earth and is now in the arms of our heavenly Father. Robert C. (Bob) Hartwell, born to Harry and Edna (Redman) Hartwell on December 8, 1921 in Los Angeles, California, died peacefully on May 6, 2008 in his home.

In January 1971, he was united in marriage to Betty (Williams) Armstrong. In his early life, he loved fishing and traveling and most recently, restoring classic automobiles. He was a member of VCCA, Sierra View Region, North Valley Unique Car Club, and SIRS #110 in Chico, CA. He also volunteered as a cart driver for Feather River hospital auxiliary. Most of his life was spent in sales, retiring from Frito Lay, Inc. in 1978. In 1979, he and his wife Betty moved to Magalia.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hartwell; sons, Gregory (Sandy) Hartwell, Wayne (Trisha) Hartwell all of Magalia; his brother, Laurie (Mary) Hartwell of Forest Hill, CA; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by two step-daughters and a step-grandson.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Craig Memorial Congregational Church, 5665 Scottwood Rd., Paradise. A Memorial contribution maybe made in Bob's name to Paradise Hospice or your favorite charity.
