Obituary Condolences

Robert Eugene Davis, 70, of Jamestown, CA, was called home to the Lord on Monday, August 20, 2012, leaving behind Rebecca, his loving wife of 48 years; son, John Davis of Chico; daughter, Kalinda Bechtold; and grandson, Nolan Bechtold, of MiWuk Village.

Bob spent many years singing with the Marin Barbershop Chorus. He loved soccer and was a coach, referee and instructor for many years in Petaluma and Chico. In retirement, he became an active volunteer at Railtown State Historic Park, where he loved serving as Tour Guide and Station Master. He was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2011 for his efforts.

Bob was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed the simple pleasure of feeding the wild birds around his home wherever he lived. Bob took great pride in his children and grandson. He encouraged his daughter to try things that were outside the norm and was delighted that his son shared his love for fishing. He was a lifetime active member in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Willard "Shorty" Davis, mother, Helen Davis, and twin brother, Richard.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27th at Railtown State Historic Park in Jamestown, CA.
