Robert Hamilton Strawn was born on Dec. 10, 1915 in Orland, CA to Margaret Hamilton Strawn and Harry Strawn.

Bob Strawn graduated in 1934 from the Orland school system where he participated in all sports, especially football. He spent a lifetime in the grain industry, except for five years during World War II while he served in the South Pacific as 1st Sgt. in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Bronze star. He retired in 1982 to the family property at Paradise. He has been an avid hunter, fisherman and sports enthusiast. His particular interests were football and golf.

Bob was a lifetime member of V.F.W., Orland. In 1996 he was honored for 50 years of membership in the Masonic Orland Laurel Lodge 245. He is a member of the Ben Ali Temple, Sacramento; charter member Legion of Honor, Sacramento; Royal Arch #40 Knights Templar #17, Red Bluff and the Paradise Shrine Club. Other memberships included E.C.V. Pair of Dice, Paradise; Elks Lodge #1786, Willows; and the Orland and Colusi Historical Societies. He was the oldest living exempt member of the Orland Fire Department.

He is survived by his daughter, Kay Strawn of Chico; two grandchildren, Kelly Lynch and Michael McDonald, and four great- grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at Oddfellow Cemetery Gazebo, Friday, Oct. 10th at 11:00 a.m.

Donations may be sent to the Orland Fire Department, to the Shriner's Hospital in Sacramento, or to a favorite charity.

F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, Orland, will be handling the arrangements.
