Ronald Chris "Ron" Poshard Obituary
RONALD "RON" CHRIS POSHARD Ronald "Ron" Chris Poshard was born in Albany, CA on June 12, 1949 and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 28, 2017, in Chico, CA. His parents, Glenn & Margaret (Sinclair) Poshard, predeceased him. In the mid-1980's Ron met Roger Martin, a pastor who became a close friend, who shepherded him to Christ and baptized him. Eventually Ron & Rosemary met, and were married at Rolling Hills Church, in Danville, by Pastor Martin at his new church! Ron retired from the California Department of Transportation afer 25 years, working his way up through various jobs to Technician status. Ron was grateful for the many supervisors and co-workers he had who were kind and supportive of him. In 1999 the Poshards moved to Paradise because Ron wanted to give Rosemary "her trees"! Pastor Jack Wright from the First Assembly of God Church befriended the Poshards, and in 2011 "Pastor Jack" and his prayer warriors steadfastly prayed Ron back to health. We were given six extra years with this special man. Ron was a man of few words but he could read a situation or an expression on a face AND could come up with something subtly hilarious! He said it was one of the things he learned in his "bowling alley days" and that "God must have a sense of humor because he created us!" Ron loved to bowl and seriously hoped there would be bowling allies in Heaven! He was a gifted certified bowling coach and kind friend to everyone but was a homebody at heart. He was a devoted husband, son-in-law, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, his mother-in-law Mary, her husband Hank Tarabochia, mother-in-law Jackie McEvilly, and many friends and extended family who have been left with his footprints on their hearts! A Celebration of Ron's Life will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017, at First Assembly of God Church, on Elliott Road, in Paradise. Service will be at 1 pm with reception following. Paradise Chapel of the Chimes is handling the arrangements.
