Obituary Condolences

Our mother, Rosemary Kathryn Hilgers, passed away on September 10, 2009 in Santa Rosa, California after a determined battle with aging. Rosemary was born to Joseph and Rose Tyra on March 5, 1923 in New Prague, Minnesota, the youngest of three girls. She grew up in Minneapolis and after World War II, she met and married army veteran Edward Lowell Hilgers, the love of her life. They had two daughters and moved frequently, finally ending up in California in 1962. After raising her daughters, she pursued a career in banking which took them to San Francisco, a city she loved deeply. They enjoyed traveling in their RV, golfing, gardening, and playing cards with friends. She volunteered with the local Humane Society and loved her pets throughout her life.

After Ed's death in 1999, she again relocated, first to Chico and then to Santa Rosa, California, following her daughter. Her spirit is now with all her loved ones who have gone before. She is survived by her daughters, Tyra Benoit of Santa Rosa and Terry Hilgers of Bailey, Colorado, her sons-in-law, Bob Benoit and Don Milkovich and her grandsons, Sean and Scott Benoit.

At her request, there will be no public services held. A private family ceremony is planned. If you wish to honor Rosemary, consider planting something in her memory or donating to your favorite charity. Daniel's Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa, California 95405.
