RUTH W. MILLER Ruth W. Miller of Paradise, CA passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at the age of 91. Ruth was born on March 20, 1923 in Topeka, KS to Glenn & Olive Woolpert, the fourth of five children. Ruth graduated from Seaman High & Washburn University in Topeka. She married Charles G. Miller in 1944, and they had five daughters. Ruth was very involved in her daughters' school activities, Blue Birds/Camp Fire, PTAs, volunteering, was active in her church and sang in the choir. Upon retiring in 1983, they moved to Magalia. Ruth continued being active in the community and with volunteering, playing cards, golfing and bowling. Over the years and after Charles' death in 1994, she was involved in several women's clubs and volunteered for the . She joined Craig Memorial Church, served on their board, loved singing in the choir, and was also a member of the Paradise Community Chorus and the PEO. She loved spending time with family, reading, Sudoku, and playing card games with her friends. Instead of moving closer to family, at age 89 she chose to move to Feather Canyon because of her many wonderful friends in Magalia and Paradise. She is survived by her five daughters and son-in-laws: Susan Miller and Steve Lockard of Buckeye, AZ, Janet and Perry Baharian of Concord, CA, Sharon and Rick Russell of Ripon, CA, Connie and Mike Schmaljohann of Oroville, CA and Glenda and Mike Craft of Brentwood, CA; her eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Woolpert of Sun City West, AZ; a brother-in-law, Myron Parsons of The Villages, FL; and two sisters-in-law, Alice Stewart of Springfield, OR and Doris Falley of Bend, OR. Ruth will be remembered as a genuinely loving and caring person who always thought of others first and a wonderful and supportive mother. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Craig Memorial Congregational Church, 5665 Scottwood Road, Paradise, CA. A lunch will be provided immediately following the service at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the , the Paradise Hospice House, or the Feather River Hospital Cancer Center.
