Sherrell was preceded in death by parents, Lewis and Lucille; brothers, Richard and Darrell; sisters, Betty Lou and Fannie Mae; children, Thomas, Jerome, Jeffrey, and Michelle. He is survived by wife, Erma; sisters, Charlene and Billye Ruthe; sons, John and Joseph; daughter, Melissa; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
