Tony Chavez Obituary
TONY CHAVEZ Tony Chavez of Chico passed away on March 22, 2016 in Palm Springs, California. Born May 22, 1944 in Oroville California to Tony and Lucille Chavez, he attended Oroville High School and Yuba College. Tony worked for Wonder Bread for 30 years. He is survived by his wife Sue of almost 53 years, his daughter Tiffany Isabell (Scott) of Chico, daughter Julie Jones (Barry) of Chico, Granddaughters Marissa Jorgensen (Dylan) of Chico, Jessica Hendricks (Alex) of San Jose, and Joslyn Jones of Eugene, OR. Tony is also survived by his father Tony, his brothers Mike, Rob, Dan and sister Patricia Maker. Tony's greatest enjoy-ment was time spent with his family. He loved boating and skiing especially at Whiskey-town Lake and always could entertain friends with his camping and fishing stories. He was a good sport when teased about "his girls" out fishing him. Always active he also liked to snow ski, golf, hunt and four wheel drive until Parkinson's Disease made him slow down. After retirement he and his wife Sue became snow birds traveling in their RV to Arizona to visit friends and spending months near Palm Springs. There they made a home away from home and enjoyed the friendship of many new friends. Their last trip to Palm Springs was coming to an end when Tony became ill and passed away at the age of 71.
