Wayne Roger Key Obituary
WAYNE ROGER KEY A celebration of the life of Wayne Key, 69 of Chico will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Brusie Funeral Home. Wayne went to the lord on December 6, 2014. He was surrounded by his wife, daughter and grandson. Wayne was born on January 4, 1945 in Chico to Edna and Wilbur Jennings Key. After graduating from Chico High School, he was drafted by the Army to serve in the Vietnam war. He was a Spec 4 in the 25th infantry. After he came home, he suffered from the atrocities of war. He tried valiantly to return to a normal life. Wayne worked as a theatre manager for United Artist Theatre, his last being the Senator Theatre. War memories took their toll on this sensitive, caring man making it impossible for him to work. His wife and daughter were his steadfast caregivers. He will be remembered by his many friends and relatives as a generous, kind man who was willing to help others in need. His 2 year old grandson was the joy of his life. Wayne enjoyed making riding toys for him and was overjoyed that he had a love for tools and wheels like his grandpa. Wayne is survived by wife Rebecca; daughter Abby of Chico; grandson Joey of Chico; his mother Edna of Chico; his brother Ken (Kally) of Arizona; a sister Donna Henson (Ron) of Chico; aunt Jessie Thomas (Mike) of Chico; aunt Lois Sizemore of Kentucky; aunt Ruth Louthan of Kentucky; a nephew and niece and numerous cousins and friends. A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 10th, 2014 at Brusie Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home and online condolences can be sent to the family at www.brusiefh.com
