WENDELL A. MYERS (1948 - 2014) Wendell Alton Myers, beloved husband and father, passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 5, 2014. He died of natural causes. Wendell was born March 4th, 1948 in Marysville, CA to Gene and Helen Myers. As a young boy, he moved to Chico, CA where he grew up enjoying sports, music, and cars. In 1966 Wendell graduated from Chico High School and began working. Shortly after high-school, Wendell served in the military for two years from 1968-1970, during which time he received a Purple Heart and Army Commendation Medal for his courageous service. In 1971, he married the love of his life, Lucinda Myers. Wendell and Cindy settled down in Chico to begin their lives together, and eventually had three beautiful children whom they loved and adored. A devoted father, Wendell enjoyed a successful career as a salesman, while still making plenty of time to coach and support his children through many years of competitive sports. Wendell also loved boating and camping with his family and friends. Wendell is survived by his loving and devoted wife; his children: Bradley Myers, Brian Myers, and Wendy Stockwell; five grandchildren: Brianna Myers, Ethan Stockwell, Addison Stockwell, Ace Myers and Taylor Cheff; brother, Warren Myers; step-father, Don Drane; step-mother, Alene "Lucky" Myers; and step-brothers Vern Drane and Mark Drane. Wendell's passion for his family, his friends, and his sports made for a truly unique and wonderful person who will be dearly missed. Wendell will be remembered as a genuinely loving and caring person; the consummate family man with flawless dance moves, a talent for playing the spoons and the special ability to put a smile on the face of everyone who knew him.
