Born in Vincennes, Indiana, July 14, 1916. Moved to Los Angeles, CA at the age of 21. Signed up for duty in the Air Force September 1940, located at Moffitt Field. Came to Chico Air Base July, 1943. Met his wife Bette Inman, while here and they settled in Chico after WWII.

Bill as he was called, worked for several years in the bread business before becoming a postal carrier. He retired in September, 1978 from Chico Post Office after 26 years of service.

While living in Chico, Bill was active in Little League, Boy Scouts, and school affairs. After retirement he became a volunteer for Franchise Tax Board (renters and homeowners assistance).

Bill belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, SIRS-110, NARFE 1245, National Association Letter Carriers #133 Sacramento, and Elks Lodge for 68 years.

Survivors are wife, Bette; son, Brian and his wife Linda; brother-in-law, Joe. Two grandsons, Brandon and Sean. Several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home.
