1919 - 2017

DAVID MINASIAN It is with sadness that the family of David Hankins Minasian an-nounces his passing on November 8, 2017 at the age of 98 in San Antonio, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Elaine, who passed January 23, 2012, his brother, Jack, his sister Margaret, and his parents. He was born in Colusa, California February 14, 1919 to Haig and Edna Minasian, graduated from high school in Pittsburg, California and graduated from Univer-sity of the Pacific, the California Maritime Acad-emy and Hastings School of Law. He served 6 years as a navigational officer in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was a long time partner in the family law firm in Oroville, California be-fore retiring at age 70 in 1990 after participating in the development of multiple hydroelectric projects in the state. After retirement, he enjoyed golf, bridge, gardening, travel and dance with his wife Elaine. They were gra-cious hosts who enjoyed creating special dinners for friends and frequent-ly had guests in their homes. David and Elaine were long time members of the First Congregational Church in Oroville and recently attended St. John's Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas. David is survived by his son, David Mark, of Waialua, Hawaii, daugh-ter, Michele (Maury) of San Antonio, Texas, two grandchildren, Benjamin (Gwynn) Deaver and their children Riley and Greyson of San Antonio and Dr. Pamela Ketwaroo (Avin) and their children Rohan and Raya of Houston, Texas. Also, his legacy includes his nephew Paul Minasian (Susan), Malcolm Minasian and Regina Minasian (Ken) and several grandnieces and grandnephews David will be missed by all. His priority was al-ways family. A memorial service will be held in San Antonio, Texas with inurnment in the colum-barium at St. John's Lutheran Church. Special thanks are extended to River City Hospice, and especially to Dr. John Galan, Randall and Roseann his caregivers.
