Ruth Steele
Pueblo - Ruth Steele, 85, passed away Jan. 17, 2021. She was born Aug. 9, 1935, in Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Anthony Woodfork; siblings, Charles Booker, James R. Booker, Larry Barrett, Marvin Barrett, Jarnell Barrett, Gloria Jean Hines and Virgie Faye Brooks. She was the founder of the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission, a longtime advocate for black history and civil rights leader here in Pueblo. She is survived by son, Dannie Woodfork; daughter-in-law, Dolores Woodfork; siblings, Wanda Collins and Donell Barrett; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, a host of relatives and friends. Memorial service, 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, Angelus Chapel. Mask required. Llimited seating due to gathering restrictions. Online condolences at
