Zelma M. Rowland

WAVERLY: Zelma Mae Rowland, 91, of Waverly, Ohio, passed away November 14, 2012 at the Adena-Pike Medical Center in Waverly.

She was born July 6, 1921 in Waverly, daughter of the late Walter Stanley Massie and Martha Perkins Massie. On February 6, 1948, Zelma was united in marriage to Daniel B. Rowland who preceded her in death on April 19, 1998.

Surviving is two children, Linda Jordan and husband, Edward of Waverly, Daniel J. Rowland and wife, Michelle of Waverly; five grandchildren, Kyle Jordan and wife, Naomi, Nikki Swinning and husband, Mark, Stephanie Rowland, Dylan Rowland and wife, Megan, and Caleb Rowland and wife, Candace; as well as six great grandsons.

In addition to her parents and husband; three brothers, Charles "Bud" Bandy, Calvin Massie and John Stanley Massie; and a sister, Louise Montgomery preceded Zelma in death.

Zelma was retired from Pike County Jobs and Family Services and attended New Covenant Church of Christ in Christian Union and Grace Fellowship in Waverly.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday November 16 2012 at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Dylan Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Latham Cemetery, Waverly. Friends may call at the funeral home 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. and until the service on Saturday.
