Earl Edward Ray

Chillicothe - Earl Edward Ray, 94, of Chillicothe, went to be with his heavenly father 8:20 am on Sunday February 28, 2021 at the Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born in 1926 in Scioto County to the late Allen and Lucille Ray. On April 3rd 1946 he was married to the late Geneva Louise Glandon to whom he was married for 65 years.

Together, they raised five children; Garry Ray, Cathy Ray, Mike (Christy) Ray, Rick (Kathy) Ray, and Lu Ann (Aron) Riley. Grandchildren; Garry Jr (Wendy), Geremy (Monnica), and Shaun Ray, Charity (Jordan) Sheppard, Tiffany (Mike) Leatherwood, Lee (Kim) Easterday, Mikki (Jake) Bissonette, Ryan (Alexis) Janes, Shannon and Brady (Makenna) Riley. 21 great grandchildren. Earl is survived by a brother, Doug (Phyllis) Ray of Chillicothe, Brothers-in-law; Bob Glandon, Ovid (Elsie) Glandon, Rodger Glandon. Sisters-in-law; Norma Jean (Elmer) Henderson, Betty Baxter, Judy (Don) Olley, Judi Glandon.

Earl is predeceased by his late wife; Geneva. a son; Garry. Along with six brothers and six sisters.

Earl served in the US Navy during World War II and joined the Army Air Corps in 1946. He and his wife owned C&J Electric Co and Allstate Termite & Pest Control together since 1963. Earl was a member of Scioto Lodge #6 F&AM and all Chillicothe York Rite Bodies.

Earl's greatest joy in life was his family and loved ones. He cherished spending time with family at get-togethers, family dinners and family vacations. He had a knack for telling stories, jokes, and playing Rummy 500. He was greatly loved and admired by all of his family and will be deeply missed by all that cared for him.

Due to current restrictions on large gatherings, a private funeral service will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jack Norman officiating. A public graveside service, estimated to start at approximately 1:45 p.m., will follow in Grandview Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Private calling hours will be held prior to the service.

His service will be livestreamed and the link for the livestream can be found at the bottom of his obituary page on the funeral home's website. In the event there are technical difficulties with the livestream, a recording of his funeral service will be uploaded to his obituary webpage shortly following the conclusion of the service.
