Chillicothe - Emogene Wireman, nee May, passed away August 7, 2018, in Chillicothe, Ohio, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 14,1927, and was the youngest of six siblings born to Fred and Bertha (Howard) May in Salyersville, Kentucky. On March 9, 1946, she married Sam Wireman, a WWII US Navy veteran, who survives. She is also survived by her daughter, Gloria (Paul) Fraley, her son Tim (Dianne) Wireman, her sister-in-law, Mary Caudill; four grandsons, Adam and Tyler Wireman and Jason and Matthew Fraley; eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Emogene took great pride in having been a dedicated employee of Bob Evans Restaurants for over twenty years. She also took great pride in the countless holiday meals she prepared for her family as well as the many beautiful hand-made quilts she produced. She also enjoyed public auctions where she obtained her treasured collection of pottery, glassware and furnishings. Emogene was a very generous, compassionate, empathetic person and spent her entire life caring for and about others. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister Geneva and her husband Howard Miller, sister Lela and her husband Herbert Spurlock, sister Alberta and her husband Walter Prater, brother Glenn and his wife Helen, and brother Kenneth and his wife Mary.

Emogene was a member of the Richmond Dale Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Signature Health Care and Heartland Hospice for their service, support and kindness during Emogene's final days.

A Christian service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Bill Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends, at the WARE FUNERAL HOME, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, 205 North Street, P.O. Box 400, Lucasville, Ohio 45648-0400.
