CHILLICOTHE: Rev. Lloyd Ward, 90, of Chillicothe, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:45 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 in Valley View Care Center, Frankfort following an extended illness.

He was born October 21, 1922, in Ross County, to the late Thomas and Rhoda Davis Ward. On January 10, 1944, he married the former Maggie L. Porter, his loving and devoted wife of 69 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Gordon and Sharon Ward, of Londonderry, Stanley H. (Sharon) Ward, of Pekin, IN and Carmen D. (Roy) Kelley, of Chillicothe; a daughter-in-law, Connie McCain Ward, of Circleville; grandchildren, Nathan and Carrie Ward, Jarrod and Nichcole Ward, Brad and Maggie Walker, Danny and Jana Walker, Jodee and Bryan Klinglesmith and Brooke and James Robinson; great grandchildren, Alex Ward, Noah Reeves, Taylor Welsh, Bailey and Ruby Walker, Kasie, Lindsey and Alexis Klinglesmith, Shalia and Sophee Robinson; a twin brother, Floyd (Marjorie) Ward; brother, Charles (Iris) Ward; a brother-in-law, Eddie Kellough; and many very special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Bart Ward; sisters, Mable Hall, Helen Down and Ruth Kellough; and brothers, Vernon and George.

Lloyd served in the U.S. Army during World War II having received 2 Bronze Stars. He was a member of Shady Glen CCCU. Rev. Ward pastored the Rescue Mission for 25 years. He served on short-term missionary trips in New Guinea, Trinidad, Texas-Mexico Border and Antigua in the West Indies. In 1988, Lloyd was honored as Man of the Year by Missionary Minded Men of CCCU. He retired in 1985 from the Mead Corporation where he had worked for 37 years.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in the WARE FUENRAL HOME with Pastor Willard Kellough and Pastor Don Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
