Gary David DePiero, age 20 years, resident of Thunder Bay, died unexpectedly, on Saturday, May 21, 2005. Gary was born and raised in Thunder Bay (Westfort), and attended St. Anne's and St. Patrick's High School. Gary recently returned from living in Calgary with plans to further his education. He loved playing baseball. He enjoyed camping, fishing, snowmobiling and hunting with his cousins and uncles. Gary had a real zest for life and loved telling jokes. He was always loving to his family and extremely generous to his friends. He was also affectionately called "Tank" by his Dad or "Big Guy" as he was growing up. Gary is survived and lovingly remembered by his sister, Patricia (Tricia) DePiero, mother, Karen DePiero-Trewin, step-father, Norman Trewin, step-sister, Ashley Trewin, grandmother, Marjorie Newton, and grandfather, Ken (Paulette) Greentree, godparents, Sylvia and Al Kayzer. Also by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. He was predeceased by his father, John, (1991), grandparents, Ida (1986) and Louis Depiero (1996) and his uncle David DePiero (1979). Viewing and visitation will be held at St.Agnes' Church, Tuesday, May 24, 2005, from 2:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. Cremation will then take place. Vigil services will be offered Wednesday evening, May 25, 2005, at 7:00 pm. , in St. Agnes'Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2005, at 12:10 pm. in St. Agnes'Church, celebrated by Rev. James Panikulam. Interment of ashes will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorials to George Jeffrey Children's Treatment Centre will be greatly appreciated.A tree will be planted in memory of Gary DePiero in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
