SONDRA BOSINGER Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sondra Beth Bosinger at TBRHSC on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025. She was surrounded by her loved ones in her final moments. Sondra was born on January 30th, 1988, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, to Cathy (nee Barr) and Stan Bosinger, and big brother Ryan. She attended St. Patrick's High School and earned both her B.A. and B.Ed. from Lakehead University. She was a teacher, partner, mother, daughter, sister, and fiercely loyal friend.

Sondra battled breast cancer with a toughness that defined her life. Tiny in size but enormous in strength, she spent hours on the monkey bars, wrestled with her brother, kept up with the boys, and proved time and again that she was unstoppable. She loved adventure and the outdoors, refusing to quit even when the cold turned her lips blue.

She filled her life with fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She loved travelling, including a cherished trip to Germany with her Bosinger grandparents and visits to Florida with Baba and Grandpa. She loved The Lion King musical with her mom, which she considered a core memory. Going for a rip defined her Sunday fun days, quadding, exploring, zip lining, and blasting music. She loved the Astro van with its booming subwoofers and once stole the show by rapping "Roman's Revenge" at Lana and Chris's wedding. Creative, sentimental, and thoughtful, she spent time cross-stitching, journaling, blogging, and documenting her life.

Sondra took great pride in teaching, especially younger children. She taught at Crolancia Public School in Pickle Lake, Ontario, where she was adored by students, faculty, and the community. She began her teaching journey in Northern Indigenous communities in Sioux Lookout, living with her partner, Josh, and commuting daily with a broken gas gauge, hoping she had enough fuel to make it home. Her legacy of kindness and dedication will be remembered by countless families.

Sondra cherished her family. She was a devoted step-mother to Connor and a loving auntie to Oskar, Astrid, and Aria, the daughter of her dear friend Lana. She treasured her bond with her brother Ryan and welcomed Meghan into the family with open arms during an early Christmas together in Mexico.

Sondra is survived by her parents, Stan and Cathy Bosinger; her brother, Ryan (Meghan); her niece and nephew, Astrid and Oskar Bosinger; her partner of 14 years, Joshua Kennard; her step-son, Connor; and a large extended family. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Jean and Robert Barr, and Maria and Lorenz Bosinger.

Her strength, humour, wild spirit, and huge heart will never be forgotten. She lived life fully, loved deeply, and left an imprint on everyone lucky enough to know her.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at TBRHSC for their compassionate care and support.

To infinity and beyond.
A service to celebrate Sondra's life will be held at Holy Family Church (2055 Rosslyn Rd, Thunder Bay, Ontario) on Thursday, November 27th at 11:00am. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Blake Funeral Chapel, 200 May Street S.
