Mr. Gordon "Gordie" Kyle age 87 years, a resident of Thunder Bay died at the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Gordie was born on September 25th, 1930 in Coronation, Alberta. At a young age he and his family moved to Fort Frances, where he was educated, and subsequently drafted into the U. S. army. He married Beverly Collum in 1952 and immediately left for Korea where he served 2 years. Upon his return, they moved to Thunder Bay, where he worked as a printer for The News Chronicle. 1968 he joined The Labatt's Brewery, and retired as the regional Sales Manager of N. W. O. Gordie enjoyed his time spent on Lake Superior with family and friends on his boat The Janice Marie. He also found enjoyment in the time he spent pickling, making jelly AND....... shopping! He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 65 years Beverly (nee Collum), children: Greg, Scot (Anthea) and Heather Kyle, grandchildren: Eleni, James and Signe, great granddaughters: Amina, Rubi, Dalia and Olive, brothers: Raymond (Mary-Jane), Richard (Laurie) and sister-in-law Helen Kyle. He was predeceased by his parents, 3 sisters and one brother. Cremation has been taken place and a memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11th, 2017, in the Sargent Family Reception Centre, 21. N. Court St. from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with words of tribute being offered at 2:00 pm . In memory of Gordie donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

My deepest condolences to the Kyle families.
He gave me the greatest hugs whenever our paths crossed. A bad cold is preventing me from attending tomorrow. I can picture him and dad sitting together and swapping stories and having a glass of scotch. RIP Gordie.

I recall Gord being a central figure during the Labour Day Soccer Tournament hay days..he always smiled and was respected by the soccer community in Thunder Bay. R.I.P. GK..and thanks for the great tournament memories...
